今回は日本の名曲をご紹介させていただきます。

T-Trippin’（Talk Box, Track Making）の２人で構成された
ユニット
DAZZLE 4 LIFE による一曲
【My Life】
2008年に Hood Sound Records からのリリースで
彼らのデビューアルバム
「Never Give Up」 に収録されています。
曲の冒頭から T-Trippin’ によるトークボックスが咲き乱れるのですが
このトークボックスがとにかく美しい。
サウンドの特徴としては
・ウェッサイ系のシンセ（高音のリード）
・深く沈むようなベース
・ゆったりしたテンポ（チル寄り）
・フックはメロディアスで、やや哀愁寄り
全体的には内省的で回想的なトーンといった感じ。
90年代後半のインディーG-Rapを思い起こさせる
ローファイ感が魅力の一つでもあります。
そんなトラックに乗せる
CMD のラップはとにかくカッコいいの一言で
ワードセンスが特に素晴らしい。
「いつの日か負けることに慣れ 戦い方すら忘れたのか」
「我の身賭けて進む 絶えずこの険しい道のりを」
「クソなりに生き クソなりに散る 泥にまみれて 花を咲かせる様」
こんな
ちょっとぶっきらぼうな言葉選びが
男らしくて個人的にはたまりません。
勝手に自分にとっての人生の応援歌的存在に位置付けいる一曲。
嫌なことがあったりつらいときはこの曲を聴いて
気持ちを奮い立たせています。
そんなことはともかく
タイトル通り
「自分の人生（My Life）」をテーマにした自伝的な一曲で
いわゆる「知る人ぞ知る」タイプの楽曲。
西海岸の浮遊感はありつつ
どこかローカル臭のある粗削りなプロダクションが特徴で
メジャー級の洗練さはありませんが
「地下感」と「リアル感」が強く出た
「ローカル色」の濃い国産の作品です。
ちなみに
この曲だけではなく
アルバム全体を通して
捨て曲無しの素晴らしい仕上がりとなっていますので
知らない方には是非とも触れていただきたい作品です。
個人的な余談ですが
CMD が32歳という若さで亡くなってしまったというニュースを目にした時は
本当にショックを受けたのを今でも覚えています。
これからも数多くの名曲を作り出してくれると期待していただけに
とても残念でなりませんでした。

This song is by DAZZLE 4 LIFE, a unit made up of

“My Life”
Released in 2008 on Hood Sound Records, this track appears on their debut album Never Give Up.
From the very beginning of the song, T-Trippin’s talk box bursts into full bloom — and it’s beautiful.
The sound features:
- West Coast–style synths (high-pitched leads)
- Deep, sinking bass
- A relaxed tempo leaning toward chill vibes
- A melodic, slightly melancholic hook
Overall, the tone feels introspective and reflective. It’s reminiscent of late-90s indie G-Rap with a lo-fi charm.
CMD’s rap on top of that track is simply cool. His word choice is especially impressive.
Lines like:
“Have you grown so used to losing that you’ve even forgotten how to fight?”
“I stake my body and move forward, always on this rugged path.”
“I live crappy, I die crappy; covered in dirt, like flowers blooming.”
— rough, blunt word choices like that feel manly, and for me personally, they just hit deep.
I’ve personally placed this song in my life’s anthem category. Whenever something bad happens or times get tough, I listen to this song to fire myself up.
It’s a track that I feel is packed with the Yamato spirit delivered from the land of gods.
Not just this song — the whole album is wonderfully crafted, with no fillers. I’d love people who don’t know it to check it out.
Personal aside: I still remember how shocked I was to see the news that CMD passed away at the young age of 32. I had hoped they would continue to create many more great songs — it was truly sad.
There’s no doubt that the songs CMD created with T-Trippin’ while he was alive are amazing.
This is a track from an album I strongly, strongly want you to hear.
