いわゆる「スター」といった感じではなく
裏側でシーンの音を定義した「玄人」による
「メンフィス・ラップの中でもかなり重要な作品」です。
イントロは
ジャジーで少し哀愁のあるコードで進行するピアノで開幕。
そのピアノが消えたあとに来るシンセが核で
高音で細い音色が短くループし、メロディは単純で不穏な感じ。
これが
明るくはないが、完全に暗黒でもないといった
絶妙な「不安定」さを作り出しています。
808ベース もこのトラックの核で聴き逃がせないポイントで
サブベースがかなり深く
ピッチ変化は少なく単音寄り。
そんな音が
リズムを作るというより「床を作る」役割を担っています。
上モノが浮かぶ土台の形成と
車内で聴くと圧が出るように緻密に設計されているのは秀逸。
ドラムはかなり特徴的で
キックは軽めでアタックが弱く、低域で補うタイプ。
スネアはドライで短く、リバーブはほぼ無し。
ハイハットは細かすぎずシンプルでトラップ以前のノリに。
